NEGRIL, JAMAICA

NEGRIL, WESTMORELAND, JAMAICA
My favourite "chill-out" spot! Everyone knows about Negril! It's beautiful, relaxing and serene, no matter where you stay! Five star or no star! In fact you get better service at the smaller spots. Explore the rustic nature of the West End! The people are always welcoming and the food.......oh yes, I miss that! I'm getting nostalgic.....enjoy!

I know, one feature won't be enough. So watch out for more!!!

MAYFIELD FALLS, JAMAICA

MAYFIELD FALLS, WESTMORELAND, JAMAICA

On my last trip to Jamaica, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this awesome location. It is located in the Dolphin Head Mountains, only a few minutes drive from Savanna La Mar and Negril. It features lucious grounds, suitable for a family picnic. There are tour guides and sometimes performers who are eager to make your experience a memorable one. You can even watch men dive from the trees to provide you with extra entertainment ( for a fee of course.) Why not take a romantic trip with your loved one and explore this hidden treasure.

ORCHID FARM - JAMAICA

ORCHID FARM - ST. ELIZABETH, JAMAICA

You can literally feast your "belly" and eyes in St. Elizabeth.
This is the home of Dr. Danny Bennett's Orchid Farm, where a wide variety of orchids are grown from seedlings. You can walk among the beautiful plants and sometimes capture their awesome fragrance. Group tours are available.

SHRIMP HIGHWAY - JAMAICA

"SHRIMP HIGHWAY" - ST. ELIZABETH
This is the first of many features of my home parish.

Everyone who visits our parish must stop along the "Shrimp Highway" in Middlequarters. The ladies are warm and friendly and they are quick to entice you with their tasty hot peppered shrimp/ squid.

DOWNTOWN, KINGSTON, JA

DOWNTOWN, KINGSTON- JAMAICA

When I used to say to people that I work "DownTown,Kingston", they often look at me in disbelief. They are instantly afraid for me. That's because many view Downtown as the centre of violence in our island home. But the beauty, magic and mystique of the most structured town in Jamaica, always captured my heart. These pictures show you how I see it!

HALF WAY TREE, JAMAICA

HALF WAY TREE, KINGSTON JAMAICA

HALF WAY TREE CLOCK.
This symbolises the heart of the city of Kingston. Kingstonians often say they were "born underneath the clock" , which means they were born in the heart of Kingston, Jamaica. It is also a favourite meeting spot for people, as it is literally the main intersection of "up town"(north) and "down town" (south) and the dividing line between the parishes of Kingston and St Andrew.

AS I SEE IT TODAY

As I see it today :

An Amalgamation of Souls

Did you realize that we are the sum total of the people we have met in our lives?
Both litereally and figuratively?
I have my father's sense of adventure, my mother's determination.
My favourite expression these days is "Oh my days" , that I get from my friend Stacey
I'm determined not to be taken for granted by any man, that I get from my experiences with men ( I won't call any names)
I had to be focused and organised because of Brittney
I've learnt to be humble in all that I've achieved, because of my admiration for Dennis
I look at my arms and I see my mother's arm and I've decided I must go to the gym!
I want to explore the world because my Daddy told me that the two moles on my calf mean that I will travel the world
I like to have my clothes nicely folded as if they are just coming out of the store,
because my Daddy showed me that's the way to fold his pyjamas
I'm spiritually inclined because my Mom made sure I was in church every Sunday
I did Interational Relations because of all the Diplomats I met during my AFS exchange programme
I did law because everyone kept saying I should be a lawyer ( I guess I talked too much )
Plus I figured that's the most lucrative profession to provide for my Baby
And now I know, this is my divine purpose on earth
To serve and make a significant contribution to others
Law is my vehicle to carry this out

I could go on...the essence is that believe it or not we are who we are
because of the people we allow in our lives
There are people that are just a part of our lives, not by choice, but by divine design
Those we have no control over
But be careful who you let into your life, as you will inevitably be influenced one way or the other by their mere existence in your life
The old saying is true
" Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are!"
